some of my peonies have buds that turn black while they are tiny, others form buds but do not open and still others bloom profusely. Can you advise me as to the problem.

Hello - there could be many causes for your problem including lack of sunlight, being planted too deep, or a fungal problem. The links below include a visual guide to problems with peonies, which I think you will find very helpful, and a few other informational websites. Good luck getting to the bottom of the problem!
