No response yet and I am worried. Many windy days here am afraid of losing the entire tree.

I have a Red Bud tree for about two years. We recently had a powerful wind storm and we lost two major branches of the tree. We are concerned about how to save the tree. Since it is a small tree is there any way we can support the branches to protect it from heavy winds? The limbs appear to be heavier than the thin branches can support at the trunk.

You are in a difficult position. The recommendation to alleviate stem breakage due to wind is to thin the branches to avoid the "sail" effect BUT you have very few branches on the tree to thin. You may consider installing some tall vertical supports to loosely tie the trunk and side branches to (one support for trunk; one support for branches).
