Clematis alpina Constance

Is there a clematis that will grow in part shade. This one claims to but I would like your opinion. Thank you

Clematis can take light shade, but still needs 6 hours of sun. There is anecdotal evidence of certain varieties being more shade tolerant, and I have certainly seen clematis growing in part sun locations. I think if you can meet the 6 hour requirement and the other conditions clematis needs (moist root zone, something to climb), you might be successful. Read here from Oregon State:
