Unknown plant

Asked June 21, 2017, 8:10 PM EDT

Hello, this plant has been growing next to my driveway for about three years. The leaves are about 6" x 2". The twigs and "trunk" are green. I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help?

Hello,

It may be autumn olive, an invasive plant, though the stems are not usually green.

Can you get a clearer picture of the flower or, if those are gone , the fruit? Can you get a picture of the underside of the leaf? If possible, have something in the picture to give a sense of size, such as your hand, a pencil, etc. ( cutting a stem off, laying it out flat with one leaf turned over, and a pen beside it, is one way you might do this)

A few other details would help us: What color berry does this develop?

If you have a berry now, break one or two open and count the number of seeds in each, please.

Is this growing in shade or sun? Do you cut it back to the ground every year? Does it grow upright several feet or does is creep along the ground?

Any of these answers you can provide will be helpful. Thank you
