Whats my peach tree doing?

Asked June 21, 2017, 9:50 AM EDT

I bought grafted Redhaven bare root trees last year. I got them in the ground and growing. Over the winter my graft stem died. Now they are growing this year but only from the bottom up. Looks like a bush.

Hi-

The growth you are seeing are suckers from your root stock. You can try getting another scion and using the same root stock to do a new graft next spring. If you want to try this, choose the straightest, healthiest stem of the root stock, and get rid of all the other growth.
