Full or partial sun for rose bush? Which are most aromatic and long lasting bloom?

Asked June 18, 2017, 8:47 PM EDT

Wish to plant 1 or 2 rose bushes.....looking for aromatic, plus long lasting blooms...what do you suggest? Also, should I plant in full or partial sun? And what should I add to the soil when planting? Thank you, Beverly

Dear Beverly,

Try Ruby VooDoo rose. This rose is everything one could ever wish for in a rose. Roses do best in full sun. incorporate a bag of compost into the planting hole mixing it with your native soil and be sure to make your hole very wide, 18 inches to 3 feet.

Here is our fact sheet on the subject: http://extension.colostate.edu/docs/pubs/garden/07404.pdf

Thank you so much. Very helpful. Now in search of Ruby VooDoo.
