Poison hemlock

Asked June 8, 2017, 9:49 AM EDT

We have vast amounts of poison hemlock plants in our neighborhood. It's invasive and is spreading like crazy. We have little kids in the neighborhood and I am wondering if there is a way to control this weed and if the state has any programs to assist local neighborhoods in controlling it. Please advise. I would recommend that you start by contacting your county weed control contact to see what management options are in the county. Poison hemlock can be controlled relatively easily by chemical or mechanical means but I am not sure what the current local resources are for management.
