transplanting perennials

Asked June 5, 2017, 1:04 PM EDT

I am re-doing a garden, and it has taken longer than expected. Is it too late to transplant perennials (many kinds) from other gardens into it? I could wait till fall if needed.

Transplanting perennials is better done when temps are not as high, but it would still be OK to do so now as long as you keep transplanted plants well watered for the fist few weeks, especially if these perennials are in full sun.

Waiting until fall is an option too, if that works for you.

Hope this helps.
