I was wondering if someone could do an article for the local paper updating the status of the Emerald Ash Borer. Also, do you have any advise on disposing of the trees that have been killed by the borer? We have several large ash trees that are still standing, but dead.
Thanks for the question. The status of the Emerald Ash Borer for Spencer County is that it is extremely active throughout Central, Eastern, and Southern Kentucky. As for disposing of the wood, burning certainly is an option. Here is a link to our EAB page and it does have some information on disposing of the wood: http://pest.ca.uky.edu/EXT/EAB/welcomeeab.html
Feel free to contact me directly through my email if you have any other questions.
