What is the OSU Extension doing in regard to callery pears, and their now known invasiveness? I find nothing on the extension site about this. I would expect OSU to be a leader in stopping this growing issue. Fields and vacant lots are full of the results because of failure to control. What is being done to stop the sale of these trees in OHIO??? Why is it taking so long when the problem is so obvious?? We have been educating folks on the problem with pear for several years. We are also working with the Ohio Invasive Plant Council and the Ohio Department of Agriculture on this issue. ODA is working on new rules that will deal with plants like these.
