What is this?
This plant/tree is growing in my garden. I have no idea what it is. The pod has opened up and leaves that look like Japanese Maple but bright green are emerging? I do not believe that I planted it.

Possibly a seedling of a nut tree (e.g. hickory) but it's hard to tell for sure from the photos. If you desire a more definitive answer, allow the leaves to develop for a couple more weeks and send us a couple more photos. Thanks!!
