Downy Mildew treatment

Asked May 9, 2017, 1:36 PM EDT

We had nice healthy hops crop and lots of recent rain. We now have downy mildew. Should we cut everything back--treat and watch. Or just treat then cut plants back?

So you conducted a lab diagnosis and culturing and have positively confirmed Downy Mildew? It has been so cold that I have not heard of any Downy disease anywhere in the midwest or northeast yet.

I would suggest you contact our hop disease specialist, here is her contact information, If you have not had a lab diagnose the disease in the lab yet, Dr. Ivey will be able to help you with that lab culturing in her lab at Wooster.
