Linden tree not leafing out much

Asked May 3, 2017, 8:50 AM EDT

I am worried about the linden tree in my yard. It is early May and there is not very many leaves on it. Is this still within the normal range ? Any suggestions to help it along ?

The rather slow development of leaves on the linden tree is a concern. However, it's too soon to make a determination as to the condition of the tree. If the tree hasn't developed a good canopy of leaves by May 20th, it probably has a serious problem.

There is nothing that can be done to help the tree over the next two to three weeks. It' basically up to the tree.

There is nothing in the photos which pinpoints a specific problem.

Thank you Richard (Jauron I assume!)

I will keep an eye on it and cross my fingers that some temp quirk in the spring may have set it back and it'll recover.

tree came in beautifully before May 20th!
