Invasive Species - Proper Disposal

Asked May 2, 2017, 4:18 PM EDT

Butterfly Bush - we planted 5-6 years ago that is healthy and attracts the butterflies. However, we want to do the right thing and dispose of it since it is an invasive species. What is the proper disposal method? Should it go into the yard debris that is picked up by the county?

If it has a lot of viable seeds on it, you could snip those off and bag them, but generally it can just be put in the garbage for pick-up.

Be sure, before you remove it, that is is not one of the newer non-invasive varieties that are now on the market. (Low and Behold, or Chip varieties)
