Bacterial spot

Asked April 30, 2017, 9:16 PM EDT

I live in Baltimore Md., I`m about to plant a Red Haven (dwarf) peach tree. I would like to know how resistant to bacterial spot is the particular peach tree? As well as the other diseases that peach trees suffer from? Thank You.

Redhaven is moderately resistant to bacterial spot. High-moisture conditions are very favorable for both leaf and fruit infections. Leaf infections can occur for at least as long as terminal growth and leaf emergence continues. In dry years you may have less a problem. Here is more information about this and other diseases of stone fruits. http://extension.umd.edu/growit/diseases-stone-fruit

Brown rot is a common fungal disease on peach trees which will require a spray schedule for control.
