Privet Hedge Problems

Asked April 26, 2017, 2:08 PM EDT

My beautiful privet hedges are undergoing some problems. They get morning sun only and have been doing great for 3 years. Now there are a lot of leaves turning yellow (with spots on them) and dying. I have picked up most of the leaves and some of the new growth is kind of thin looking. I need to get in touch with an expert who might be able to help.

We would like to see photos of the hedge so we can see what you may be dealing with. Send photos of the whole shrub, around the base of the shrub, and affected foliage.
There are several species of Ligustrum, privet. They are invasive and not sold in nurseries anymore. They form dense thickets and crowd out native plants. You may want to consider removal.
