Straw and Compost.

Asked April 21, 2017, 11:43 AM EDT

I removed a substantial amount of wet straw from my strawberry patch. My I safely put it into my compost piles. I fear mold. And do not want to pay to have the bags of straw hauled away.

You can compost your straw for sure. It is the "brown" in the brown-green ration need to get a pile to make compost. Here is a link to an article on backyard composting from Penn State Extension.
