Soil test prior to new sod

Asked April 10, 2017, 12:43 PM EDT

The area to be re sodded is under 2 fairly large pine trees. Do I need to test and prepare soil prior to the new sod installation? Where do I get the soil tested? See 2 attached pictures.

Hello. If you have had a consistent problem growing grass in a particular area you might want to get your soil tested. You can come to the CSU extension office 410 Fairgrounds Rd., Castlerock to pick up a test and then send it in to CSU. The following link will give you the most up to date information on preparing a site for sod http://csuturf.colostate.edu/Pages/establishmentSEED.htm
