Boxwood

Asked April 10, 2017, 8:17 AM EDT

I would like some help with my boxwoods. There's a powdery substance all over them and I think in the past it has turned into flies later in the season. What can I do about this right now? Is there a specific type of insecticide I should be using? Thank you so much

Based on your description you may be referring to the boxwood psyllid. Take a look at our website to see if this is what you are referring to. http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/boxwood-psyllid-shrubs

If not, send us photos of the whole shrub, around the base, and affected foliage.
