Mulch for crepe myrtle trees?

what kind of mulch should be used on crepe myrtle trees? I will be using pine mulch for my roses and azaleas.

There is not a specific mulch recommended for crape myrtle. Any organic mulch helps conserve soil moisture, keeps the weeds down, and breaks down into organic matter. Pine mulch is fine. Make sure mulch is no thicker than several inches and keep away from the base of the trunks.
