Small flowering trees

I'm looking for a 20 - 25 foot tree to plant as a replacement for a pine tree that died and needed to be removed. We planted a Japanese lilac and now need a tree that will be closer to the street. We have a ranch style house. Would a pagoda softwood be a good choice?

I have attached a reference that lists the best trees for our area. You will want to know your sun/shade conditions in the area you will plant the tree. You will also want to take into consideration how close to the road you will be planting the tree and if it will be subject to any road salt. A Pagoda Dogwood is a hardy tree in our area if your growing conditions fit it's needs. http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard%2Dgarden/trees-shrubs/recommended-trees-for-minnesota/southeast/docs/DD6574_RecTrees_SEMinn_Deciduous_recommended.xls
