Lawn

I am going to seed my lawn (I live in Masterson Station). I was wondering the best seed to use. Small yard, partial shade on the fence line, (the rest if the yard has sun), with a couple of dogs. I plan on fencing off half the yard to keep them off of it while it grows, once it matures, fence off the other half.

Turf Type Tall Fescue is the best adapted grass for our area. The best time to seed cool-season grasses such as tall fescue is from mid-August to late September, with the second best time being from mid-February to mid-March, but not later than mid-April. You can view publications such as Lawn Establishment in Kentucky http://www2.ca.uky.edu/agcomm/pubs/AGR/AGR50/AGR50.pdf for more very helpful tips.
