Austrian Pine

How do I check my Austrian Pine, planted less than 4 years ago, has Zimmerman pine moth and what would I do about it?

Larimer County Colorado trees and shrubs

Hello,

Zimmerman pine moth tends to form damage at branch crotches (angles) and produces "popcorn-like masses" at these unions. It does tend to occur on younger trees.

CSU has a good Fact Sheet (which includes photos), along with diagnostics and treatment recommendations (if necessary): http://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/insects/zimmerman-pine-moth-5-591/
