Fruit and nut trees

Asked March 9, 2017, 7:30 PM EST

We ordered pecan and almond trees ( deliveredbare root) and pear and nectarine trees in soil. We received them way ahead of schedule. We were advised to place them in planters, keep moist, and get some sun until weather gets better by local nursery. When should we plant them outside? Any advice would be appreciated

As soon as the soil is frost free and dry enough to walk on, you can plant your trees.Until them keep the in a cool place so they don't break dormancy in the pots. The roots will be much better if the tree is planted bare rooted as it was shipped. The tree was kept in dormancy in a big cold room at the nursery, packed in a box as you received it.
