When is the best time to transplant hydrangea (ivory color). It grew to over 6ft tall last year and its branches are getting in the way of our walkway.

Montgomery County Maryland

March to mid-April is a good time to transplant a hydrangea. Make sure that the soil is moist around the shrub before transplanting and water if necessary. This has been a dry winter. Then after you transplant it water it in well. Water it during the summer especially during any dry periods.
