Trees for privacy screen

Asked March 6, 2017, 10:56 AM EST

I need a deer resistant evergreen for border privacy that doesn't take up a lot of space and grows anywhere from 6' to 20' tall. We have a mostly sunny space with sandy soil in northeast Anoka county. What would you recommend?

To start with, a hungry deer will eat anything. You should expect to protect the privacy fence at least until the plants are well-established. One plant I might recommend is a mugo pine.
