Having just learned about the Timothy mite, don't know what to plant in our fields. Nephew and I purchase purchased 69 acre farm. Currently have 3 donkeys with goats and a horse or two probably to be added later. We'd like to grow our own hay but our neighbor who has grown hay and is selling us his equipment, discouraged us from trying Timothy which should be a major ingredient. Wonder if orchard grass and clover would be a good mix.

Yes,orchardgrass and clover would work very well for your situation. I would probably lean more toward white clovers though as red clover is high in estrogens and can impact reproductive cycles of small ruminants.
