Nonprofit looking for help w/ native plant restoration

Asked February 20, 2017, 9:50 AM EST

I work at a large nonprofit animal shelter. We’re doing a huge renovation over the next 2-3 years here. As a part of that, we’re bulldozing a 3-acre (ish) plot of cottonwoods that’s in a small drainage area. I’m trying to push the organization to replant the area with native plants when we’re done.

I am looking for any contacts for people or organizations that help out with endeavors like this. We may need help with labor, planning, and perhaps grants or funding. My father does work like this through local government in Wisconsin at no cost to landowners, so I’m wondering if organizations exist that do similar work in Colorado.

Hi Kayla,

This is Dan from CSU Extension. Barbara Fayhe sent you some great information that we hope helped.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can do.
