Flies on indoor lemon tree

Asked January 28, 2017, 2:42 PM EST

I brought my outdoor small lemon tree inside for the fall and winter and now I am having trouble with some type of fly infestation on the plant. What can I do to get rid of them? Thank you

Are these tiny, small flies?
It may be fungus gnats, which can breed in overly wet soil of houseplants.
If so, allowing the soil to dry out a bit usually works.
