Reguarding aging skn:

Asked January 27, 2017, 8:44 AM EST

As we age, the amount of lipids produced by keratinocytes diminish. I understand this is the reason for dry skin and fine lines. I'm curious to know what are the reasons the keratinocytes have slowed down the production of lipids? Is is due to a lack of production of filaggrin that retains water within the keratinocyte? Thank you for your time, Angie
