Wood chips for a horse stall

Asked January 7, 2017, 11:57 PM EST

I just had 1 sweet gum tree and 1 popcorn tree taken down and the stumps ground down. I have lots of chips to dispose of. Can someone use them is a horse stall and it not be toxic to the horse??

I suspect the chops from the sweet gum would be okay but I'm not sure about the popcorn tree. The resin is used to make biofuel.

Your best person to ask is a horticulture agent from your county extension office or a state specialist in urban horticulture.
