Pick Oranges before Freeze ?

Asked December 6, 2016, 1:24 PM EST

I currently have a number of oranges on my satsuma tree here in The Woodlands, TX.
Just watching the weather forecast indicating they anticipate a freeze Thur evening/Fri morning.
Can I cover the tree (about 6 foot) with the fruit on the tree OR should I pick the fruit before freeze?

Thanks for the question. Looking at the weather forecast, the freeze will only be for a few hours during the night. Covering the tree and leaving the fruit on will be sufficient. Make sure that the covers are not plastic. Plastic gets colder than blankets or sheets. Thanks and stay warm. MP
