Dwarf Persimmon Black Marks

Asked November 3, 2016, 3:24 PM EDT

I planted a dwarf persimmon tree which was bought in a local nursery in my yard seven years ago. It was in an open area (fig. 2). It bore fruits the following year. The persimmons were small and had black marks (fig. 1) on them. It bore the same kind of fruits each year while they grew larger. I have never harvested a good crop. Please help.

Persimmons tend to get fungi that cause black spots on the persimmon as it ripens. The fruit is not as attractive as what can be obtained in a store, but it is edible. It is not worth spraying since the fruit is edible. vw
