evergreen trees leaves turning brown.

Asked October 21, 2016, 12:08 PM EDT

I have two evergreen trees with leaves turning brown. The trees are about 30 years old and get morning sun. The leaves turning brown seem to be starting from the inside coming out. Is this normal or is it some kind of disease? I don't want to lose the trees. Pictures attached.

There could be several reasons for browning such as drought, too much moisture, etc. However, if the browning of the foliage was recent, this could be normal leaf drop. Many evergreens do lose their foliage during the autumn. Usually the color changes and shedding occurs on the inside of the plants and is a normal process.
