purple pampas grass

would purple pampas grass and Amethyst Myst Heuchera grow in canadian zone 5?

Purple Pampas grass, Cortaderia is hardy in USDA zones 7-11, but in well protected areas, it can also be grown in Zone 6. It’s not suited for cold regions unless grown in pots and brought indoors over winter and replanted outdoors in spring. Due to its large size, however, this isn’t really practical. Unfortunately, your zone could only use this plant as an annual.
Now, Amethyst Myst Heuchera is zoned for 4-9 so you should have no problems growing this plant. Heucheras are evergreen in areas with mild winters. If properly sited out of the way of winter winds and with reliable snow cover, gardeners in northern regions may also find their heucheras acting as evergreens. If the plant looks tattered by early spring, shear off any damaged leaves to make room for the vibrant new foliage which will fill in quickly.
