What kind of (specifically) fir/evergreen trees, if any, are advantageous to plant above or around (and how close?) to a septic/leach bed? Or, am I better to not plant any trees on or nearby? for Vermilion, Ohio

Erie County Ohio

Hi there, I am attaching a link that you may find interesting. The article does not recommend any trees be planted any where near your complete septic system. While some trees may be less aggressive, in time you may regret a decision to plant a tree at all. The article also gives some general guidelines as to distance from your system. Note at the bottom of the article it does give some trees that can be planted over special types of systems. My suggestion is not to plant any unless your type of septic system calls for a specific tree be planted. Wish you the best.
