Wintering Calla lilies outside ok?

Asked October 19, 2016, 9:10 PM EDT

We have a large potted calla lily plant that we keep in our deck from spring until the first freezes of fall... It hates being inside! Can I winter it outside? Should I put it in our basement or shed? Thanks for your help as always!

Calla lilies cannot stand temperatures below thirty degrees. Winter care is discussed in the following link. Our guess is that your shed is not heated and the winter temperatures go below 30 degrees. Your basement would be a better choice if it stays above thirty degrees. vw
