Johnson grass is on the invasive weed list. If this plant is growing on a farm ,you may get some assistance from your local extension service. http://extension.umd.edu/kent-county
Johnson grass is a perennial weed that is propagated from both seed and underground rhizomes, making it difficult to control with just one spray application. Applying a fall application of Round Up, glyphosate, will move into the root zone and provide some control. Subsequent applications next spring will also e required. http://extension.missouri.edu/p/G4872
