Is this usual for a Compact Hinoki Cypress?

Asked October 18, 2016, 3:04 PM EDT

This Compact Hinoki Cypress (Chamecyparis Obtusa ' Gracisis Compacta' was planted late fall 2015. It has done well. Friday, 10/14/16, the Cypress was completely green. Today, Tuesday 10/18/16 it has developed the yellow color. Is this usual for this time of the year? It seems a very sudden change. Thank you, Carolyn

The Hinoki falsecypress prefers a moist soil, check the root zone , it may be that it needs a shot of water.Be sure it goes into the winter with sufficient moisture in it's root zone.
