Climate Change & Tree List

Is there a list of residential and/or urban forest trees that are vulnerable to climate change? Also, an urban tree list that is most resilient to climate change?

I do not know of a specific list that notes trees sensitive to our changing climate; however, evergreens that normally grow in cool arboreal forests such as the Arrowhead region of Minnesota will be affected by rising air temperatures. Trees that are brittle such as silver maples may suffer more damage as storms become more violent.

There are trees that are more resilient and adaptable to tough conditions. Our Extension publication "The Best Plants for 30 Tough Sites" is a good place to start. Extension also has publications of Recommend Trees for various regions of Minnesota. You can find these and other tree publications here: http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/trees-shrubs/
