Transporting fall leaves.

Asked October 10, 2016, 8:24 PM EDT

I like composting in my worm bins that are suited to apartment living. I've found it works best if I can balance the "greens" and the "browns," aka my rotting veggie peels with something dry and not quite so alive--shredded leaves and egg cartons work well. My dad sucks up bags and bags of leaves and he's happy to save a bag for me. Is it a problem to transport bags of leaves from southwest MN to the Metro? I'm worried about moving invasives.

Thank you for being concerned about invasive species and it is great you are composting! You should be safe transporting leaves from your father's property and placing them in your composting bins.
