Do you have any suggested resources for plant choices for a preschool playground? We are looking for plants that are non-toxic and fairly hardy in Minnesota.

Plants to Avoid

Although every child needs to learn that some plants are not good to eat or touch, it is best to avoid poisonous plants or those with irritating characteristics like thorns. Online databases of poisonous plants are available here:

Pots of herbs would be fun and non toxic, Maple trees grow fast and provide shade, Red twig and Yellow Dogwood grow fast. I don't really know where to begin. Are you looking for resources for landscaping or activities or annual decoration? or all of the above?
