techny arborvitae

Asked October 2, 2016, 6:15 PM EDT

I live in Ham Lake and have a lot of techny arborvitaes, in the fall like now, the inside needles start to turn brown. Is that common? Or does it mean they need water? Thanks, Don

Arborvitae lose their oldest needles in the fall. What you have observed is probably normal for this time of year.
