The use of Hydroponics in crop production is not harmful. The 'chemicals' used in hydroponics is limited to water and a soluble nutrient solution made up of various key macro and micro nutrients and maintained at an appropriate pH level. The idea behind the use of a hydroponic system is to grow crops in the absence of a soil-type media and increase nutrient uptake efficiency by the plant by making nutrients available directly through a liquid media.
