Milkweed and aphids

Asked September 25, 2016, 10:48 AM EDT

My milkweed is infested with aphids. What is the best way to control them? I attended the Butterfly and bee demonstration. It was a very good and educational learning experience. I was thinking that if you sponsor it again there should be information shared about the pests and other things that go along with having native plants. Thank you. Be

Aphids are common in the circle of life in our gardens, and are often controlled by other beneficial insects like ladybugs. When they aren't, we can intervene in a few ways, including putting on gloves and smooshing as many as possible, or shooting some of them off with a blast from the hose.
