Brown leaves on a fig tree

Asked September 17, 2016, 8:16 PM EDT

About 2 years ago, I bought 2 Turkish Brown fig trees and planted them in a full sun area using bottomless buckets for deeper rooting. One tree has grown pretty well and has fruits that never ripen. Green leaves turn brown and fall off. Is my tree in need of some fertilizer? There has been plenty of rain, for sure. Thank you for your input/suggestion!

This may be anthracnose, or even a combination of fungal diseases. Turn the leaf over and look for fuzziness or other signs of fungal growth and consult this publication for more information: http://www.edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/PG/PG01000.pdf.
