Asked September 16, 2016, 1:13 PM EDT

Wondering what kind of bug / beetle this is and how to get rid of it in home ? They are every where!! Looks like a Black Vine Weevil to me ? They have invaded neighbor's homes and my home in Peters Creek. Can you help ? Thanks Joel Holladay

Hi, thank you for using Ask an Expert! there are two likely culprit groups- one is the root feeding weevils-
see this: http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/insects/find/home-invading-weevils/

another possibility is granary weevils: http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/weevils-on-stored-grain

where you are finding the weevils in your home should help you figure out which group you are dealing with. Are they found on floors, or in the kitchen? If in kitchen, start looking at any stored food with grain- this can include animal food.
I hope that the linked files will help you get the "what to do" once you get it narrowed down- please don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions after reviewing the linked information!
