Deer Resistant Flowers for Oregon
Deer ate my mums and I was very sad. I love deer. This was their land long before we showed up, but I don't want them eating my flowers! Our vegetable garden is basically Fort Knox with the fencing we have, but it would be unsightly to do that with our decorative flowers. Since I just bought a new home and am so excited to decorate it with beautiful Oregon fall flowers, I want to know what are some deer resistant flowers/plants that I could have in pots on my front porch and up my walkway. (The deer are not afraid to come to my porch for a tasty treat.)
"Here is a list of plants that tend to be more deer-resistant. Deer-resistant does not mean deer-proof, and even the plants on this list will get nibbled on from time to time. Deer browsing depends upon the available food source for that year, time of year, location, deer species, and simple curiosity. The only sure-fire way to keep the deer from nibbling is to put up a tall enough fence. Use this list as a guideline and good luck!"
