cedar tree problem

Asked September 14, 2016, 12:39 PM EDT

Please advise me on a problem with my cedar trees; one is turning brown, and looks as if it is dying. Is there a disease occurring with the cedar trees in the kent county, maryland area? Thank you,

Kent County Maryland

The only new cedar pest in Maryland is the Japanes longhorned beetle. Here is info on this invasive pest: http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/invasives/japanese-cedar-longhorned-beetle You can look for the exit holes and tunneling. If you find suspicious damage, you can attach photos in a response to this email.

Or, just send us photos of your tree, including close-ups of specific symptoms.
