Ribbon grass toxicity

Asked September 8, 2016, 10:32 AM EDT

I thought I found a problem to my dying bluegrass in ribbon grass. It is both drought tolerant and beautiful. However I have a dog who does occasionally eat grass. Is this grass in fact toxic in dogs and what would the symptoms be?

Frist, I have to say that I'm not a specialist in animal health.

That said, reed canarygrass (anther name for ribbon grass) is listed as slightly toxic. Its probably safest not to plant it. I would consult your veterinarian.

I hope this he helps, please let me know if you have further questions.
